About The Scott Center for Autism Endowment

In 2019, Brevard County philanthropist Mr. Fred Sutton, co-founder of Sutton Properties, challenged Florida Tech to raise support for the Scott Center for Autism Treatment through the naming of rooms. He led the way with a generous gift of $100,000, which was matched by other donors.

During the Evening of Hope celebration that year, Mr. Sutton was deeply moved by the gratitude of families who had benefitted from the Scott Center’s services. Inspired by their stories, he issued a second challenge—offering an additional $150,000 if we could raise $250,000 within the next five days.

Thanks to the leadership and generosity of several key supporters, including Trustees F. Alan Smith and Vik Verma, community leaders Ted and Melissa Parker, and Florida Tech parent Greg Williams, we successfully met this goal. Additional contributions came from the New York Jets Football Team and the Unchained Kings Motorcycle Club.

Florida Tech continues to pursue naming opportunities at the Scott Center to support this endowment and welcomes additional gifts to sustain and expand these vital programs. These contributions not only benefit families in need but also provide invaluable opportunities for students conducting research and developing innovative treatments for autism.
